SkyWin Aeronautics Industry and Adama Science and Technology University Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Collaborate in Various Capacity Building Areas

SkyWin Aeronautics Industry and Adama Science and Technology University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly conduct research and development activities in the fields of capacity building and training, technology transfer, drone technology, and information communication and security technology. 

According to the Deputy Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Service, Ato Sisay Tola, who attended the event, the agreement will further enhance internal capacity in the technology sector in the process of protecting national security and sovereignty; it will also strengthen the relationship between the industry and the university. 

The Deputy Director General said that the agreement reached with the university is of great importance in jointly building the capacity to provide improved drone products that are the results of Sky Win Aeronautics Industry’s research and are acceptable to the African and global markets. 

Adama Science and Technology University President Dr. Lami Gutta, for his part, stated that his university is moving to fulfill its mission in the technology sector by producing a globally competitive workforce and developing, practicing and improving technology; he stated that they are ready and committed to making the agreement reached with Sky Win Aeronautics Industry effective. 

Based on the agreement, Dr. Lami said that they will work to quickly build capabilities that will enable them to become competitive in the sector by conducting better research in drone technology and making products accessible on a global scale. 

The National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) informed EBC that SkyWin Aeronautics Industry, which was inaugurated two weeks ago, is a pioneer in manufacturing drones for civil, military, and security services in Ethiopia.
