The victory of Adwa is a symbol of perseverance and unity, said Ato Ashadli Hassan, the head of the Benishangul Gumuz regional state. 

 

He also recalled that the victory marked the dawn of freedom for Africans who were oppressed by the yoke of slavery and for black peoples around the world. 

 

He said that Adwa served as a source of strength for Africans to fight for their freedom and helped develop the idea of ​​Pan-Africanism. 

 

The head of state emphasized that the current generation should unite and repeat the victory of Adwa by freeing Ethiopia from poverty. 

 

The 129th anniversary of the victory of Adwa was celebrated in the town of Asosa, Benishangul Gumuz regional state, with various events.
