Americans and Ethiopians Celebrate Black History Month in Addis Ababa
#Ethiopia | Black African Americans and Ethiopians held a panel discussion on the occasion of Black History Month.
Ethiopia, which is the birthplace of Black sovereignty, is celebrating Black History Month for the first time. The celebration aims to commemorate the positive contributions and footprints that Black African Americans have made in the world and are celebrating with Ethiopians through various programs.
The panel discussion between the Black Americans and Ethiopians from various fields was held at the Eliana Hotel. The panel discussion was attended by Black African American scholars from various fields, Ethiopian-born people, diplomats, Ethiopian entrepreneurs, and scholars.
Black Americans, especially in the United States, said that the sacrifices made for the freedom of black people are great and that systemic racism still exists in the world.
The panel discussion also raised the need for black people around the world to stand together to uphold the sovereignty of black people and elevate the dignity of black people.
The panelists said that the fate of the next generation is intertwined, and that it can be predicted by looking at the structure of the world. They said that the generation should be created with the help of technology, artificial intelligence, and community-oriented modern education to create a self-reliant generation.
The Ambassador of South Sudan, influential African American women in various fields, and successful Ethiopian entrepreneurs shared their experiences on the potential of black women.
Black History Month, which was first celebrated in Ethiopia from Africa, commemorates 28 influential African American women and has focused on black sovereignty. Organizers say the celebration will continue to be celebrated annually in Ethiopia.
