In his message, the Prime Minister said that the Resurrection is a holiday of sacrifice, perseverance and hope.

The full text of the message sent by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) regarding the holiday is as follows:

Congratulations on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ;

Resurrection is a holiday of sacrifice, perseverance and hope.

The world has sinned. But Christ has been sacrificed. It is humanity that has destroyed, but Christ has redeemed. The debtor is man. But Christ has redeemed.

The death of Christ is not for saving one; it is not for teaching. If sacrifice is not made for the sake of the many, the many cannot be saved. If we want to save a country, a people, a nation, we must make sacrifices. The word Christ did not speak only in words. He showed his love in action on the cross. He himself became a mediator, a mediator himself, and a sacrifice himself. 

Today, everyone who loves Ethiopia must be prepared to be a sacrifice. The people of the Torah have also done this by walking in the sacrifice of others. They sacrificed a thousand sheep and a thousand goats. But it did not happen. The country cannot be saved by sacrificing others. But by sacrificing oneself. But by sacrificing one's own energy, time and knowledge. But by sacrificing one's own honor and ego. 

To save a country, we must sacrifice ourselves by taking the cross to humility, reconciliation and consultation. The cross is suffering; insult; scourge; humiliation. When we prepare ourselves for the path of peace and reconciliation, insults, curses, and suffering await us from many. But what we need is to carry the Ethiopian cross from Litostastra to Calvary. For the resurrection of Ethiopia, we need to carry its cross. 

Resurrection is a victory that comes after perseverance. It has a mass judgment ahead of it; it has a condemnation ahead of it; it has a scourge ahead of it; it has a betrayal ahead of it; it has the darkening of the sun, the wearing of blood on the moon, and the falling of the stars. But in all this, Christ stood steadfast like a lamb silent before the shearers. He endured suffering for the sake of a cause. He walked steadfastly, doing everything he could for the sake of humanity.

A country needs perseverance. Standing steadfast in the face of suffering and condemnation. Standing steadfast in the face of insults and contempt. Standing steadfast when the elites who appear like the sun disappear, when the nobles who appear like the stars fall. Standing steadfast when those who were with him are afraid and betrayed - a country needs. For those who persevere, the Ethiopian resurrection is not only very close. It is also visible.

Resurrection is hope. It is hope that the test will pass. It did not seem that Sunday would come to those who saw Friday. It did not seem that the tombstone would be lifted. It did not seem that the seal would be opened. It seemed that the darkness would be light. But everything turned upside down. The Lord of history changed history. 

Our hope is at the door. We will see Sunday on Friday. We are looking at life beyond death, resurrection beyond the grave. We have a clear imagination of a dream that will come true. Therefore, storms and storms do not surprise us. We know and believe that today for tomorrow, death will give way to resurrection.

There are many who are waiting for the Ethiopian resurrection. The time of the passion is passing. Now we are on Friday evening. After the day of silence, the Ethiopian resurrection will come. Many of those who have gone will return. Many of those who have gone astray will understand. Many who cried in vain on Friday will be ashamed. Judges will repent. The challengers will be scattered. The keepers of the tombs will be terrified. But Ethiopia will rise in the inevitable resurrection.

Just as the resurrection was revealed from Israel to the world, Ethiopia will also be revealed to the world. This is what the feast of the resurrection teaches us.
