The first power connection of the East African Electric Highway project has been realized through the power supply infrastructure from Ethiopia to Kenya.
The second part of the project, after the Ethiopia-Kenya project, is the power supply connection line that was built in Kenya and Tanzania. This electric power transmission line has been completed and trial power supply has started.
This regional energy connectivity will bring cooperation between countries by ensuring reliable energy supply at affordable prices; It expands prosperity.
The power link will expand Ethiopia's renewable energy supply and enable it to play a role in the expansion of green electricity trading in the region, earning it no less than 200 million dollars a year in the first trading periods.
The Alum Bank, the African Development Bank and the French Development Finance Institute supported the project.
