The Governor of Oromia Region, Ato Shimelis Abdisa, said that the regional government will provide the necessary support to the youth and investors engaged in the tourism sector.

Oromia Tourism Week closing and recognition schedule was held at Addis Ababa Skylight Hotel.

According to the Head of Government, Ato Shimelis Abdisa, who attended the program and gave a speech, since it is being done so that citizens can benefit from the tourism sector, it will provide the necessary support to the youth and investors who are engaged in the sector.

In order to benefit from the tourism sector and provide good services to the tourists, they should be engaged in hotel development, Mr. Shimels said.

The results of many works in the tourism sector have been recorded. Activities that have been started will continue to be strengthened.

He mentioned that the government is working to pay attention to the tourism sector, and stated that 24 parks and 18 eco-tourism sectors are being built in the region for the benefit of the citizens.

Abdulakim Mulu, Social Sector Coordinator of the Deputy Head of Government, Lise Dugan, Commissioner of Oromia Tourism Commission, and other regional and federal senior officials were present at the event.

According to EPD, the Oromia Tourism Week was held from September 13 to 15, 2016.
