Asosa University projects whose completion time is up to 10 years

There are a number of projects that have not been completed within the allocated budget and contract period at Asosa University. 

Our eyes program has confirmed that there are 17 projects that have been delayed for up to 10 years at the university. 

An additional budget of more than 300 million birr was needed to complete the water treatment project, which is one of them. 

The construction of the sewage treatment project started in 2014 and the budget at that time was 93 million birr. 

Our eyes ask, "How could the project be delayed at this stage?" asked Kemal Abdurahim (Dr.), President of Assosa University. 

In his response, the president explained that the main reason for the project's delay was the "great disagreement" between the university leaders at the time. They also mention that the lack of foreign currency has challenged them. 

Kemal Abdurahim (Dr.), who says that he has returned to work by studying the process of the project last year; That the civil work of the project is nearing completion at 100 percent; He announced that he would work to start the work "if the capital is available" as the materials needed for electro-mechanical are bought and installed from abroad. 

Another one of the delayed projects started by the university is the 4-storey student dormitory building. The project, whose construction performance failed to meet 24 percent, was two years before the Revan deadline. 

When the execution of the project is so delayed, how come you did not cancel the contract of the contractor as it is done in the other construction process? “The project is delayed; It is not something we deny; We also discussed it with the management; However, it is because we do not believe in termination. 

The preparatory part of the Ayane program also saw the construction of the stadium, which has been delayed for more than 6 years, as well as the construction of a 4-storey teacher's residence. 

It is noted that more than 17 of the university's projects, which have been delayed for years, are causing additional costs to the government and the people.
