# Debt letter that was destroyed after 5530 years

The word "Jordan" is derived from the Hebrew word "Yarden" which means "flowing, descending, flowing river". It is a holy place mentioned in the Bible 175 times in the Old Testament and 15 times in the New Testament. The Jordan River flows south from the northern part of the Syrian land, Hermon or Armon in Gezu, Golan in Amharic (which Israel controlled by force but which belongs to Syria). It is Israel's largest river, which flows between 314 and 320 km on average between Syria, Jordan or Jordan, the Palestinian Authority and Israel, and joins the Dead Sea.

This river is a savior and a healer. When the Syrian Naaman was suffering from leprosy, the prophet Saint Elisha came to Israel to heal him. The Prophet told him to step out of the Jordan River three times, and at first he hesitated, but when he did this, he was saved from leprosy. The righteous Job was washed in the same river when he was suffering from a disease. When the Holy Prophet Elias was lifted up to heaven in a chariot of fire, his disciple, the Prophet Elisha, received Elijah's spirit twice in the Jordan River /2 Kings 2:1-15/. Jordan, which flows from one source, splits into two, "Yor" and "Danos", and continues to flow and meets again at the bottom. This is the origin of the name Jordan.

In ancient times, the prophet Isaiah said, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand, repent." Saint John the Baptist, who was told to come preaching in the wilderness of Judah, said, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand, repent." The Jordan River is east of Jericho. Matthew 3:1-6 In the place where both meet, our humble Lord Jesus Christ, the creator of heaven and earth, humbled himself at the hands of man and was baptized to teach us that we should do righteous deeds. Why was our Lord baptized in Jordan?

After the devil left Adam and Eve out of paradise, he told them to write Adam and Eve as the devil's maid and Adam as the devil's servant to make it easier for them. He buried one of these letters of debt in hell and the other one in the Jordan River, and when he was baptized by John, he trampled on them as his deity and melted and destroyed them as if he was God. Matthew 3:15-17 St. Ephraim says in Monday's praise that Mary "tore up and destroyed the letter of debt of Adam and Eve." Another reason for being baptized in the Jordan is to fulfill the prophecy said by Saint David, "The sea saw you and fled, and the Jordan turned back." Let us share in their blessings by helping monastics like John who have dedicated themselves to God and supporting their holidays.
