"Do You Know It's Christmas" made years ago by Enobob Gildof doesn't describe Ethiopia today - Soundtrack

To support the victims of the famine that happened in Ethiopia 40 years ago; The song "Do they know it's Christmas?", which Irishman Bob Gildof sang with his friends to collect international aid, spread the hand of alms around the world.

However, the re-release of the music has sparked protests as it marks the 40th anniversary of Band Aid, when Ethiopia is at the peak of ensuring its food security. Famous singers of the world are also protesting.

Zeleke Gesese, who has gained fame up to the Grammy Award and has been known for preaching peace and unity in his music for the past 25 years, spoke about the issue with ABC FM's new 97.1 program.

Zeleq argued that the music does not describe the current Ethiopia at all. However, he said that it was an act that clearly showed the people's desire to reap the benefits of yesterday's history.

According to the vocalist, the band has raised money through music for ten consecutive years, but has only spent two years' worth of earnings on backers at most.

As proof of this, he cites One Foundation, which has a capital of more than 200 billion dollars, and the progressive investment program that followed.

He said there is no good reason to release the music now.

He said that it will take a lot of international relations to reverse the false narrative that Ethiopia is still in a state of famine. He stated that a movement should be started from institutions to individuals including the diaspora.

Zeleke pointed out that he is talking to various prominent voices on social networking sites to protest.

In another way, he said that they will have a peace concert in various African countries, including Ethiopia, in collaboration with Bob Marley's children.

He also mentioned that Bob Marley's children, who have a large following, were invited to join the movement.

It is known that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) said in an interview with the English magazine The Time that the current reality of Ethiopia is rapid development and not a story of famine where millions will die.
