#Ethiopia The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia announced that only 217 thousand Birr was not returned from the money taken last year due to "system failure".
The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia is celebrating Cyber Security Day for the first time on the occasion of Cyber Security Day.
Abe Sano, president of the bank, attended the ceremony. He said that only 217 thousand Birr was returned from the money taken last year due to a system problem caused by our own fault.
"The cyber world is scary," the president said, adding that it requires everyone's cooperation.
"The problem that happened last year was that the perpetrators were quickly identified. If the problem came from outside and we couldn't control it, the damage would have been huge," he said.
It is recalled that 2.4 billion birr (40 million dollars) was taken from the bank last year on the night of March 6 when it faced a system problem.
About 10,000 individuals were also reported to have transferred money
