Ethiopia committed to successful implementation of African Union institutional reform agenda: President Taye Atsekeslassie

President Taye Atsekeslassie has expressed his commitment to the successful implementation of the African Union institutional reform agenda.

 

The President participated in the African Union Institutional Reform Summit held in Nairobi, Kenya.

 

In his speech at the forum, President Taye Atsekeslassie said; While acknowledging the progress made on the continent, it is important to recognize that significant challenges remain for the African Union to fully realize its potential. 

 

The President highlighted five key points in his speech.

 

He mentioned that ensuring inclusiveness, upholding financial sovereignty, prioritizing and aligning the African Union agendas, developing a strong culture of dialogue, and enhancing the Union’s cohesion and integration on the international stage are the points that need to be addressed.

 

President Taye confirmed that Ethiopia is committed to its implementation.

 

The African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki and heads of state attended the African Union Institutional Reform Forum.

 

It is expected that a proposal will be made at the next summit of the Union, which will be held in Addis Ababa in February, incorporating the ideas raised at the meeting.
