China is a key partner in Ethiopia’s development efforts - Gideon Timothy (PhD)

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Timothy (PhD) held talks with Li Yushi, Special Representative of the Government of the People’s Republic of China for African Affairs. 

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Timothy (PhD) recalled that Ethiopia and China have established a comprehensive strategic partnership that cannot be changed under any circumstances. 

 

He also stated during the discussion that China is a key partner in Ethiopia’s development efforts. 

 

The Minister briefed the Special Representative on the Horn of Africa and continental peace and stability. 

 

Special Representative Li Yushi, for his part, stated that Ethiopia-China relations are built on a solid foundation. 

 

He said that regular high-level exchanges of visits are a sign of the high level of bilateral relations. 

 

The Special Representative said that we will strengthen our support for expanding trade and investment and building industrial parks so that Ethiopia can benefit from the decisions made at the China-Africa Forum Summit. 

 

The two countries are celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, according to the ministry.
