Comedia Eshetu asked to apologize.

It has been reported that the road from Djibouti to Addis Ababa, particularly around the Metehara area, is at risk of being disrupted due to earthquakes.
As a result, we have heard that the Institute of Geophysics, Space Science, and Astronomy at Addis Ababa University, in collaboration with the Space Science and Geospatial Institute, conducted a joint study and submitted recommendations to the Ethiopian Roads Authority to develop alternative routes.
The institute has noted that recurring earthquakes have been occurring in Ethiopia since the end of the month of Meskerem (late September).
The institute stated that the current #earthquake activity is intensifying, and if it suddenly escalates, there is a risk that the main Ethio-Djibouti road, a critical route for import and export trade, could be severed around the Metehara area.
Nathaniel Agenehu, a researcher at the Space Science and Geospatial Institute, explained that in the Fentale area, volcanic rock or magma has been moving significantly closer to the surface over the past three months. He said this indicates that an eruption may be imminent, and three alternative road design options have been prepared and discussed in a meeting attended by ministers to create a backup route.
He mentioned that the Ethiopian Roads Authority has taken up the proposed alternative road designs.
Nathaniel Agenehu also clarified that the earthquakes are being closely monitored. He added that they have recommended halting air traffic in the area and relocating residents to safer locations to mitigate risks.
He stated that the epicenter of the earthquake activity is Fentale Mountain, and the further away one moves from the mountain, the less severe the threat becomes. Areas closest to the mountain are considered to be at the highest risk and require significant caution.
