Mayor Adanech Abebe launched the construction of a one-of-a-kind women's rehabilitation and rehabilitation center in Addis Ababa's Aqaki Kaliti sub-city.

 

The foundation stone and opening ceremony of the center was held by the mayor, Mrs. Adanech Abebe, who brought together women who had made their lives on the streets and were employed in the trade, to undergo various rehabilitation programs at the center and to acquire skills that would change their lives.

 

This center, which has high hopes for alleviating women's social problems, will be built with a budget of more than 3.1 billion birr allocated by the city administration through the construction office of the city of Addis Ababa.

This project will train up to 10,000 women per year, and within 10 years, up to 100,000 women will be trained and enter various fields of life.

Mayor Adanech Abebe, who was present at the ceremony, said, "Women's contribution to building a stable society and the country's balanced development in all aspects is great, but due to stereotypes, they have not benefited from their contribution."

 

They said that it is necessary to change this stereotype by benefiting women in all aspects.

 

The mayor said that we urge those who make money by gathering women who are vulnerable to social crisis to work together for real women's transformation and personality building.

 

He explained that it is expected of all of us to increase our speed and continue our development by overcoming various hindering views and agendas.

 

Mayor Adanech said that it can be seen that those who are engaged in conflict business and making cheap profits are still trying to make Addis Ababa the center of conflict.

 

It is expected that the center will provide women with skills that will enable them to fulfill their economic and social responsibilities and will enable them to contribute significantly to the society.

 

In this project, which will be built on 5.1 hectares of land in Aqaki Qaliti sub-district, it will train in short and long trainings, and it is a psychological and skill comprehensive access center.

 

 Apart from being a training facility, the facility will also have a hostel or dormitory building, a 1000 vehicle parking lot, a nursery, dining rooms, entertainment and shops.

 

It is known that the center provides training in beauty, weaving, chain work, electrical and plumbing, fashion and design, food and hospitality skills.

 

The construction will be completed in 13 months and it will be open for use.
