Robots to be in every home in the coming years: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD)

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has said that in the next five to ten years, robots performing various tasks will be in every home in Ethiopia.

Just as it was considered unrealistic to say that a telephone would be in every home twenty years ago, it would be difficult to believe that robots serving different purposes would be in every home today, the Prime Minister said; but this will become a reality, he said, robots will be in every home. However, he also indicated that these robots will be different from previously known technologies.

Prime Minister Abiy, who mentioned that previously known technological products serve only one purpose; but robots will be used in every home for the purposes they want.

Explaining this, he said that if a family with a mentally challenged child does not want to send their child to school, they can hire or buy a robot to teach them at home, which is designed to suit their child.

Similarly, a family with a sick member who needs to take medication regularly can have a robot administer the medication on time.

The Prime Minister said that dividing the Ethiopian people on religious and ethnic lines is their main goal and daily work; while studying and thwarting this, he stated that he would prefer to have a robot that would make Ethiopians stand together for a common dream and a common goal.

People get tired at some point; they work day and night, and sleep at night; but since a robot does not sleep day and night, it will have the ability to thwart any negative agenda that arises from anywhere in the world and awaken Ethiopians.

Above all, he indicated that he would be very happy to have a robot that would instill in the generation the belief that "Ethiopia can prosper."
