We have overcome internal and external pressures to maintain peace with the people, said Ato Shimelis Abdisa, the Head of the Oromia Regional State. 

 

The Oromia Regional State Council is holding its 8th regular meeting of the 4th year of the 6th term of office at Adama Regional State Council Hall. 

 

The Head of the Oromia Regional State Council presented a report on the implementation of the regional 6-month work plan to the Regional State Council. 

 

In his report, he stated that he has overcome internal and external pressures to maintain peace with the people, and said that we will make the necessary sacrifices and move the people towards the peace they desire. 

 

In a call for peace to armed forces operating in various areas of the region, he mentioned that the signing of a peace agreement with members and leaders of the Oromo Liberation Front was a result achieved in the past 6 months. 

 

Ato Shimelis Abdisa also stated that the kebele council system is being developed and implemented in order to improve the service delivery sector, which the people have previously complained about, and to provide quality and organized services.
