 It is recalled that we exchanged information that after the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that woke many people from their sleep at 9:52 last night, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred.

And today on the Richter scale:

➡️ 4.9 magnitude earthquake events have been recorded. 

All are Awash and its surroundings.

A 4.9 earthquake is the highest recorded in the past few hours.

On the other hand, Efederi Kesam Sugar Factory located in Dulasa district of Afar Region has suffered severe damage due to the earthquake. 

The sugar factory's administration building, power transmission room, laboratory and electro-mechanical room were severely damaged.

At present, as the earthquake is increasing significantly in the area, there is a high risk of earthquake in order to save the other properties in the damaged buildings.

It has been said that the workers of the factory have been evacuated early to avoid injury.

National Television reported that the Sesam Sugar Factory, which employs more than 4,000 people, has completely stopped working due to the earthquake.

In related information, the government has announced that it is carrying out the work of evacuating residents from the areas that are the epicenter of the earthquake.

In particular, it has been stated that by identifying the areas that are the center of the earthquake, emergency workers from various professions have been deployed on the spot in 12 kebeles to assess the extent of the damage.

It was also mentioned that efforts are being made to resettle the residents away from the area by identifying the 80,000 citizens who live in these kebeles.
