Agreement signed for construction of Qaliti Port and Terminal

Ethiopian Maritime Transport and Logistics has signed a contract with Ethiopian Engineering Corporation to construct Qaliti Port and Terminal.
The agreement was signed by Ethiopian Maritime Transport and Logistics CEO Beriso Amelo (PhD) and Ethiopian Engineering Corporation CEO Shimelis Eshetu (E/R).
Since Qaliti Port and Terminal handles a large number of heavy vehicles, it becomes dusty in the summer and muddy in the winter, making it inconvenient for both port workers and customers, said EBATL CEO Beriso Amelo (PhD).
The CEO said, “With the necessary support, we will complete the project in a short time and create a comfortable working environment for our employees, customers and stakeholders who provide services in the port.”
A budget of over 510 million birr has been allocated for the design and construction of the internal road and container terminal of the Qaliti Port and Terminal, and the entire work will be completed within 6 months.
Ethiopian Engineering Corporation CEO Shimelis Eshetu (E/R) said, “We will work to complete the construction within the stipulated time and with high quality.”
Following the agreement, senior officials from both institutions officially launched the construction by visiting the site at the port.
