The Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Organization (ECAO) has announced that it has provided more than 17,000 quality assurance services in the first six months of the 2018 fiscal year. 

 

It also said that it has certified more than 600 manufacturers and service providers. 

 

We have also heard that this is a 21 percent increase compared to the same period last year. 

 

We heard this when the Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Organization launched its branch in Adama city. 

 

The program was attended by the Minister of Trade and Regional Cooperation, Kassahun Gofen (PhD), and other officials. 

 

The Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Organization provides testing, certification and inspection services to ensure the quality of products and services. 

 

It was also reported that the Oromia Regional State branch in Adama city, which was opened for service today, is a five-story building. 

 

We have heard that more than 140 million birr was spent on the program. 

 

The Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Organization has 9 branches in regional cities, said its CEO, Engineer Meaza Abera, Jimma, Dire Dawa, Hawassa, Gondar, Dessie, Mekelle, and Adama. 

 

The organization is said to be testing more than 4,000 inspection characteristics and is said to be testing more than 400 products.
