According to the Government Communication Service, baptism is a public holiday that Ethiopia has given to the world.

He also explained that the festival is seen as an intangible heritage gifted to the world beyond religious celebration.

The Federal Government Communication Service has sent a congratulatory message to all Christians on the occasion of baptism.

The full message of the Government Communication Service regarding the celebration is as follows:  

Baptism is a public celebration that Ethiopia has given to the world. The festival is seen as an intangible heritage gifted to the world beyond religious celebration. The basis of the festival is religious. 

The Ethiopians also made it to have a cultural value as well as having a religious base. When the festival is celebrated every year, it is a public festival of Adabai, which is attended by the whole people, apart from the followers of the Christian religion. Ethiopia's contribution to the world is recorded as an intangible heritage.

What makes the baptism festival different from other religious festivals is that it is not celebrated only in the premises of religious institutions or at home and it shares the joy with the whole community. It is a wonderful festival which is celebrated by devotees and audience who are decorated in religious and traditional costumes. 

Apart from religious ceremonies, songs and traditional dances, the festival is also highlighted by events such as Christmas games and horse riding. Visitors from different parts of the world plan to attend this traditional festival. They will return after seeing the good looks of Ethiopia, the solidarity and hospitality of its people.
