Kenenisa Bekele announces he will compete in the 2025 London Marathon
Addis Ababa, February 10, 2017 (FMC) Veteran athlete Kenenisa Bekele has announced that he will compete in the 2025 London Marathon.
The 40-year-old athlete is expected to compete in the London Marathon for the last time.
Confirming his return to the London Marathon on social media, Kenenisa thanked his fans and family for their support throughout his running career.
The golden athlete, who has been in the athletics field for 22 years, is the third fastest marathon time holder and became the first athlete to run a marathon at the age of 40 by participating in the 2024 London Marathon.
Kenyan athlete Eliud Kipchoge, Kenenisa's 22-year rival, will also participate in the race, according to the London Marathon information.
It is worth noting that Kipchoge withdrew from the 2024 London Marathon before participating.
