The Semera City Corridor Development Project is Supported to Succeed - Urban and Infrastructure Development Ministry

The Urban and Infrastructure Development Minister, Mrs. Helen Debebe, stated that the necessary support is being provided to ensure the success of the Semera City Corridor Development Project.

The Urban and Infrastructure Development Ministry officials have placed special emphasis on urban development and construction activities in the Afar Region for the last six months, and have aligned the Semera Corridor Development Project with this focus.

Minister Helen Debebe, at this time, mentioned that the works being carried out to ensure the success of the Semera City Corridor Development Project are at a good stage.

Given that Semera City is situated on the plain, she also noted that the compensation costs that were supposed to be paid have been prioritized in the work.

Afar Region City Development and Construction Bureau Head, Engineer Ahmed Nur Salim, explained that the corridor development work is being carried out in detail by continuously engaging designers when necessary.

The workers of Semera City have now reported that the project has reached 45% completion in the ongoing effort to ensure its success.

It has been confirmed that preparations to start corridor development work in other cities in addition to Semera City are underway.

In the first phase, the corridor development work covers 2 km, including five parks, road dividers, and pedestrian and bicycle paths.
