The Oromia Region is set to hand over 1,402 agricultural tractors to farmers.
The Oromia Regional Government is scheduled to distribute 1,402 agricultural tractors, along with their accessories, to farmers, cooperatives, and unions today in Shashemene city. It has been confirmed that the recipients include 143 farmers, 12 cooperatives, and 42 unions who had previously submitted requests for assistance to the regional government and saved in advance for the tractors. The tractors were assembled locally by Kenja Agricultural Equipment Manufacturing and General Trading PLC, a limited liability company. These tractors are expected to significantly contribute to the regional government’s plan to expand agricultural mechanization. The handover ceremony will take place in the presence of senior regional government officials, including the President of the Oromia Region, Mr. Shimelis Abdisa.
