There was an increase in the retail price of fuel products

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Development has announced that a new price adjustment has been made on the retail price of fuel products in January.

It has been stated that there has been a revision of the retail price of fuel products, which will be effective from today, December 30, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until January 30, 2015.

Accordingly, the applicable retail price in Addis Ababa city is:

Gasoline per liter - 61 birr from 29 cents

White diesel per liter - 67 Birr and 30 cents

Kerosene per liter - 67 Birr and 30 cents

Light black diesel - 49 Birr from 67 cents

Heavy black diesel - 48 Birr from 70 cents

Airplane fuel - 67 birr from 91 cents, according to the Ministry of Trade and Regional Development.

Regarding the price adjustment, the ministry has prepared a public notice and the retail price of the products included in the public notice will be implemented from tomorrow (January 01, 2015) in all stations in all regions.

Although there are some gaps that need to be fixed in the implementation of the targeted subsidy system issued by the government, the ministry stated that the price revision that will be implemented from January 2015, the subsidy given to the low-income society has been increased.

According to this, the subsidy given per liter of petrol has been increased from Birr 15.76 to Birr 17.33 and diesel subsidy has been increased from Birr 19.02 to Birr 22.68.
