Addis Ababa, Ethiopia will continue to strengthen the work it is doing for peace in the region by preventing cross-border crime and terrorism, the Federal Police of Ethiopia said.
The East African Union of Police Chiefs has concluded a three-day consultation forum to prevent cross-border crimes and terrorism.
The head of the Ethiopian Federal Police's Criminal Investigation Department, Deputy Commissioner General Zeleman Mengeste, stated that the consultation will prevent cross-border threats to peace and security in the region.
He said that recommendations related to sexual, terrorism, cyber and law violation crimes were presented and discussed.
He announced that the East African Police Chiefs Union, chaired by Ethiopia, will continue to strengthen its support to countries in the region to prevent terrorism and cross-border crime threats.
The Director of National Interpol and International Police Cooperation at the Federal Police, Commander Tsagaye Haile, said that the anti-terrorist and cross-border crime prevention work carried out by Ethiopia through community participation and cooperation with neighboring countries was presented in a way that gave lessons.
ESA reported that the officers of the criminal investigation bureau from the member countries of the region participated in the meeting of the committees of the East African Police Chiefs Union.
