River and riverbank polluting institutions fined 2.6 million birr 

#Ethiopia | The authority announced today that it has fined 2.6 million birr on institutions that pollute rivers and riverbanks.

The Addis Ababa City Administration Regulatory Enforcement Authority, in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Authority, announced that it has taken administrative action by imposing fines on organizations and individuals who discharged sewage and waste into the river in accordance with Regulation No. 180/2017.

The authority announced that today, in Bedeta Sub-city, Woreda 9, Addis Ababa University Health Science College, Black Lion Specialized Cancer Treatment Institute was fined 400 thousand birr, in Woreda 7, Extreme Hotel was fined 300 thousand birr, and in Mulu Evangel Amanog Local Church was fined 100 thousand birr.

In addition, in Nifas Sil Lafto Sub-City, Muniz Trading Private Limited Company was fined 300 thousand birr, Al-Akhtar Business Enterprise 400 thousand birr and Taye Bogale Private Company 100 thousand birr, while in Arada Sub-City, Woreda 6, Pykep Plaza was fined 100 thousand birr.

In related news, in Gulele Sub-City, Woreda 5, Dire Industry Limited Company was fined 300 thousand birr, in Addis Ababa Sub-City, Woreda 1, Ye Nga Sow Cleaning Company was fined 300 thousand birr, and in Yeka Sub-City, Woreda 12, Sunset Homes Company was fined 300 thousand birr.

The authority imposed a total of 2 million 600 hundred thousand birr in fines today, according to information received from the Addis Ababa City Administration Regulation Enforcement Authority.
