Construction of smart communication rooms being built in ten federal institutions and all regions is nearing completion - Ministry of Innovation and Technology

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology announced that the construction of smart communication rooms being built in ten federal institutions, all regions and the two city administrations is nearing completion. 

The smart communication rooms are equipped with modern smart screens, smart lighting, improved tele and video conferencing, networking, noise reduction equipment, comfortable rooms, and air conditioning. 

Two years ago, the smart communication rooms built in 5 federal institutions with the financial support of the World Bank and coordinated by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology were inaugurated and are providing services. 

State Minister of Innovation and Technology Yishurun ​​Alemayehu (PhD); said that smart communication rooms are modern and save cost and time 

He said that the smart rooms include digital whiteboards that can be used for various meetings and trainings, as well as for written explanations.

He said that they have been installed and are providing services in 5 institutions so far, and that 24 additional smart rooms are being built in regions and selected federal institutions.

The Minister of State, who stated that the construction of the smart communication rooms, which is being implemented with a budget of 4 million dollars from the World Bank, has taken one year, said that the construction of smart communication rooms being built in regions, city administrations and 10 federal institutions is being completed.

The smart communication room is organized by technology and can accommodate up to 25 people at a time, said Surafel Diriba, a cybersecurity engineer at the National Identification Program.

The unit is able to hold meetings without network interruptions and plays a significant role in protecting information security, EZA reported.
