Athlete Tirunesh Dibaba will return to competition today

 

Addis Ababa,  Long-distance runner Tirunesh Dibaba will return to competition in the Houston Half Marathon, which will be held in America today, after four years.

 

A three-time Olympic and five-time World Athletics gold medalist athlete Tirunesh has not competed in any competition in the past four years.

 

Tirunesh Dibaba is among the athletes participating in the 22nd Houston Marathon today.

 

Athlete Tirunesh's fastest time in the distance was 1 hour 6 minutes 50 seconds at the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon held in the United Arab Emirates in 2017.

 

Tirunesh's younger sister, Ana Dibaba, along with athlete Yayot Gebrekidan and athlete Asede Baisa will participate in the competition.

 

On the other hand, athlete Shura Kesita and athlete Prince Gebreslase are among the athletes participating in the men's half marathon, according to ESA.

 

She is also primed to win the 10km road race in Valencia, Spain tomorrow.

 

Kenyan and Ugandan athletes have been declared as the main competitors in the world field in the street competition which has been given the gold standard by the world athletics.
