It was stated that to ensure the sustainable transfer of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam to future generations, we must focus on basin protection and development.

 

A discussion forum was held under the theme "One Plan, One Report: Development of the Nile Basin and the Role of Civic Associations".

 

The forum, organized by the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam Project Coordination Office in collaboration with the PHE Ethiopia Consortium, focused on integrated basin development.

 

The office is fulfilling its role of comprehensive support for the dam by mobilizing the entire community, said the office's Director General, Dr. Aregawi Berhe.

 

He said that the work done by Ethiopians to reduce the sediment entering the dam alongside the construction of the dam is a source of pride for generations.

 

Dr. Aregawi stated that the participation of all segments of society, including civil society organizations, has contributed to this.

 

Endashaw Mogese, Director General of the PHE Ethiopia Consortium, for his part, stressed that civil society should work together on the protection and development of the Renaissance Dam basin.
