The Regional Roads and Logistics Office has announced that 1,395 kilometers of new roads have been constructed in the Oromia region in the 2015 fiscal year at a cost of nearly 5 billion birr.

 

According to the director of planning and monitoring evaluation of the office, Ashena Habtamu, in the last fiscal year, many roads were built to facilitate the flow of transport in the region.

 

Based on this, they mentioned that 1 thousand 395 kilometers of new road construction work has been done in the fiscal year at a cost of 5 billion birr.

 

The director also pointed out that the road constructions are monitored at regional and zonal levels.

 

He said that 119 km of the constructed roads have been built to the standard of the capital project.

 

He stated that 1 thousand 395 kilometers of rural roads have been constructed in the work done to expand access to rural roads.

 

He mentioned that in the next year, 5.1 billion birr has been allocated to build new roads that will facilitate the flow of transport.
