A digital system has been developed to provide efficient services to investors in the Amhara region

 

Addis Ababa, the regional investment office has announced that a digital system has been set up to provide efficient services to investors investing in the Amhara region.

 

Director of Public Relations of the office, Ato Yewenu Aamel, said that there is potential for investment in various sectors in the Amhara region.

 

He mentioned that the investment activity in the region is increasing from time to time. He cited as an example the issuance of investment licenses to 4 thousand 724 investors who registered a capital of more than 483.7 billion birr in the 2015 fiscal year.

 

He explained that the investors will engage in agro processing, metallurgy, textile manufacturing and other sectors.

 

He mentioned that it is expected that the developers will create jobs for more than 957 thousand people when they start working with their full capacity.

 

He said that an accessible and digitized system has been developed so that developers can get efficient services with important information.

 

He also pointed out that improvements have been made in terms of land supply, guidelines and regulations, as well as investment project evaluation requirements.

 

He called on foreign investors, diasporas and local developers to invest in the potential resources of the region.
