Africa Telemedicine Network, a digital health service facility, was announced today.

The African Medicine Network, which is said to play a major role in improving medical delivery and access in our country, was announced today in the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. Leah Tadese.

Dr. Akza Taame, the founder of the African Telemedicine Network, stated that both our country, Ethiopia, and our continent, Africa, are entering digital health services.

In this, he stated that each country, including Ethiopia, will create its own telemedicine to make the health services accessible according to the actual situation of their area.

According to Dr. Akza's explanation, telemedicine is a medical system that provides health services remotely with the help of technology; In this service, teleradiology, telepathology, telepharmacy, telecardrology and other medical services are also provided.

Dr. Akza said that a telemedicine app called Habari Doc that can do this job has also been announced.

Dr. Akza explained that it is a digital service that allows people who want medical services to find the health professionals they want through the internet through the mobile application they install on their phones, make appointments as needed, and pay for services through an online payment system.

He said that the service, especially the medical service, will be accessible to the section of the society that is not getting enough and the time, effort and unnecessary cost of the patient will be saved.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadese, who attended the program, mentioned that the expansion of digital medical services is essential to make medical services provided by specialist doctors accessible.

The minister said that attention has been given to the 10-year plan to expand digital medical services as a country, and asked the private sector to strengthen its participation.

The minister also said that it will be a great success if it is possible to make digital medical services accessible to areas that use internet services.
