Ethiopia, Algeria announce efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation

Ethiopia and Algeria have announced efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation.

 

The two countries made the announcement at the 5th Joint Commission of Ministers meeting that concluded today.

 

At the meeting, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf recalled that the visits of the leaders of the countries in Addis Ababa and Algiers were constructive, and said that the two countries have opportunities for mutual benefit.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, Gedion Timotheus (Dr), said that the long-standing cooperation between Ethiopia and Algeria is exemplary. 

 

The Minister also mentioned that increasing trade relations between the countries is one of the priority issues.

 

Ethiopia and Algeria also signed cooperation agreements at the 5th Joint Commission of Ministers meeting.

 

The agreements provide for joint work in agriculture, entrepreneurship, innovation, space science and applications, pharmaceutical industry, sports, culture and arts, investment, energy and mining.

 

The foreign ministers stated that the agreements are crucial to enhancing cooperation between the countries.
