The National Consultative Commission has announced that it plans to involve militants in the consultation process in 2018.
The agendas collected from the public will also be made public to Ethiopians in the new year.
The Ethiopian National Consultative Commission made this known to journalists in a statement issued at its headquarters today.
The commission’s spokesperson, Ato Tsebu Tadesse, said that the commission had successfully completed its work in 2017.
The spokesperson told journalists that the commission plans to work on 6 main issues in the new year 2018.
The efforts that have been initiated to bring political parties that have not participated in the consultation process and those that have stopped participating for various reasons, as well as forces involved in armed struggle and others to the consultation platform will continue in 2018, Ato Tsebu said.
Ato Tsebu said that consultations will be held on selected agendas and other agendas will be made public, adding that consultations will be held on selected agendas and consensus will be reached.
Ato Tsebu indicated that recommendations will be prepared and submitted to the relevant body to ensure that the issues reached are implemented.
He also explained that he will work closely with the relevant bodies to ensure that the Tigray region is included in the consultation process.
