The Grand Renaissance Dam’s nearing completion has thwarted the plot of internal agents who are creating security problems and other problems by exploiting its benefits, said veteran historian and political analyst Alemayehu Areda (PhD).

 

Alemayehu Areda (PhD) said in a current discussion on ABC FM Addis 97.1; The Grand Renaissance Dam’s nearing completion has enabled Ethiopia to achieve a major victory by overcoming complex diplomatic challenges with wisdom and unity. 

 

Alemayehu Areda (PhD) also pointed out that the baseless threat that they cannot touch a single drop of water from the Nile is a lie and that Ethiopians have demonstrated this by their own efforts.

 

He stated that the negative mindset that using the Nile River is harming Egypt and thus harming the Arab community has also failed.

 

Alemayehu Areda (PhD) said that Ethiopia has defeated the colonialists who feared that it would repeat the same aggression it had in the African liberation struggle in the economic field.

 

He said that Ethiopia has also rejected the undue pressure of the international community that Ethiopia should suffer if Egypt suffers.
