The competence of health professionals is important for quality health services - Dr. Leah Tadese

Addis Ababa, Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadese said that the competence and motivation of health professionals is crucial for quality health services.

The Ethiopian Medical Association is holding its 59th Annual Conference and International Health Fair.

Minister of Health Dr. Lia Tadese said that the Ethiopian Medical Association is a veteran and has made many contributions to the health system.

He said that the Ministry of Health has formulated various strategies to improve the health system at the national level and is working with all stakeholders.

In order to ensure the quality and fairness of health services, to provide information-based medical services, they also mentioned that the management and health finance system should be strengthened.

He also stated that efforts are being made to ensure that health sector workers are motivated, qualified and have professional ethics.

He also emphasized that the Ethiopian Medical Association should continue to strengthen its work as an accreditor and training provider by preparing various courses, improving accessibility, in this regard.

The information we received from the minister indicated that there is a need to update medical technologies in both government and private health facilities and for this the minister has called on professional associations, medical professionals, various sections of society and the media to play their part in a coordinated way.
