The Addis Ababa Transport Bureau has announced that it will begin penalizing any public transport service providers who halt their services before 10:00 PM.
The bureau stated that this action is permitted under Regulation No. 185/2017 of the Addis Ababa City Administration Cabinet.
According to this regulation, all public transport service providers in the city are required to provide services until 10:00 PM, the bureau emphasized.
Furthermore, the bureau strongly warned that providing services outside designated routes, overloading passengers, and charging fares beyond the bureau's set tariff are prohibited.
The bureau declared that public transport service providers and drivers operating illegally outside these guidelines will face a fine of 5,000 Birr as stipulated in the regulation.
