The people of Tigray should not be judged for living in fear and anxiety today, without recovering from the wounds of yesterday, according to the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed (PhD).

In a message posted on his social media page in Tigrinya, the Prime Minister said; The role of the people of Tigray in creating and preserving Ethiopia is profound.

We also note that Tigray is the origin of civilization and the pivot of Ethiopia's territorial unity.

The Prime Minister said that the people of Tigray are not only a people with a bright history written in indelible ink; above all, they are a people who are friends of their country, friends of peace and prosperity, and friends of work.

The Prime Minister said that Tigray is the land where government administration and state building began and has been preserved.

The Prime Minister said that the people of Tigray love their country above all else; it is a public fact that they are a people who value peace.

The Prime Minister said that unfortunately, over the past hundred years, due to various grievances with the central government, Tigray has been a land of war; the question of what the people of Tigray gained and what they benefited from the wars that took place should be answered.

He also stressed that Tigray and the people of Tigray should now be free from war. 

He said that it is also necessary to ask whether war is the only solution to the problems that arise.

The Prime Minister said that Tigray has produced many scholars, religious leaders, politicians and great elders who have benefited their people and their country; He especially urged the Tigray elites to resolve their differences through dialogue and in a way that ensures the unity of the Tigray people.

He called on the elites involved in politics, business, security, academia and the media to realize that the Tigray people have nothing to gain from war and to preach peace.

He said that the problems that arise should be resolved through dialogue and that the problems should be resolved in a way that strengthens the unity of the people.

He also stated that the differences with the federal government and other forces should be resolved through the constitution and democratic means.
