In the last three years, the amount of land cultivated by tractors has reached 5 million hectares, according to the member of the central committee of the Prosperity Party and Minister of Agriculture Girma Amente (Dr.). 

 

The minister also said that the reform made it possible to solve the obstacles in the agricultural sector. 

 

He also reminded that the change is one of the first steps taken by the government to improve the sector.  

 

He explained that by doing this, the equipment used for mechanization and irrigated agriculture can be easily accessible by importing duty-free. 

 

He pointed out that this is a major policy step taken in the sector. 

 

With this, he announced that a bank system has been established where farmers can get tractors and combine harvesters.

 

He said that in the last three years, the amount of land cultivated by tractors has reached 5 million hectares. 

 

He also announced that agricultural mechanization machines could be seen in all parts of the country.
