We will make women who have been left behind and deprived of opportunities due to various challenges better and stronger, said Bereket Worku (Bereket Gebrewa), President of the Ethiopian Businesswomen Association.

The president told ABC Dotstream that the work has begun to help women who have business ideas but are facing financial, knowledge and other problems to participate in finance, training and experience exchange platforms to emerge, so that they can stand out. 

Bereket, who recently took over as the president of the association, said that Ethiopia, a member of BRICS, needs such associations to promote its products. 

She also said that the association is a place where the level of women in our country is seen and the image of the country is built.

The association, which has been established for many years; She pointed out that the expected responsibility has not been fulfilled, which has prevented the association from showing the change and impact it can create. 

To address this, she said that the newly established association is in the process of changing its material, operational and leadership to enable women to present their products and business ideas to the domestic and international platforms. 

She added that efforts are being made to involve 100 women entrepreneurs in the COMESA trade fair within a 30-day plan. 

According to Bereket, the association has started its work with the plan to help women in many ways, empower them with financial and other issues, and accelerate changes.
