The Holy Synod announced that it has graduated 48,000 Orthodox higher education students and deployed them to serve the church and the country

#Ethiopia | The Chief Executive Officer of the Holy Synod, Professor Wasihun, is presenting a 2-year report at the 13th Seminar of the Synod.

In his report:

With the blessing of the patriarchs, 48,000 Orthodox higher education students who have completed the curriculum have been graduated and deployed with the Cross of Trust to serve the church and their country with their knowledge, money, and strength.

One of the main tasks of the Synod is to produce teachers who can teach students of the Synod. As a result, 2,560 new teachers were trained in Phase One, 757 in Phase Two, and 100 in Phase Three, totaling 3,417 new teachers for the campus congregation. The trainees are currently serving in the church and campus congregation. A total of 7,237,490 birr was spent on this service.

9,480 new leaders serving in the campus congregation service were trained in Phase 1 and 710 in Phase 2 and deployed in service.

The mentoring program, which is designed to enable Orthodox students of higher education institutions to participate in church service, especially in areas where there is a shortage of ministers, has continued to be strengthened.

Currently, 6,801 university and college students are receiving mentoring programs, and 783 deacons who have completed their education in the past two years have been trained and deployed in service.

The graduation magazine of the students of the campus assembly of higher education institutions, which has been prepared annually since 1986, has been prepared digitally for the past five years since 2012, and has made a great contribution by reducing the cost of printing, the time and effort of the preparation, and modernizing the information.

He said that a database has been prepared and implemented in all centers to support the services provided by the campus assembly with technology and to have a centralized system for the information of the campus assemblies.
