I am an Arsenal fan. Some of my friends are Manchester United and Manchester City fans. They all unanimously supported PSG because they hated Arsenal in the last Champions League final.

 

I knelt down to pray, saying, “Arsenal has many enemies; I would love for them to win this trophy.” But I was surprised to learn that I was born in a country where people are like leaves, full of suffering and problems, and I thought about praying for football, so I left Arsenal and prayed for my country and my people.

 

In the end, Arsenal lost on penalties. My friends started cheering. I was a little disappointed, to be honest. But when I thought about it, I asked myself, “They won the Premier League a few days ago! Why can’t I be happy about a big win when I’m sad about one defeat?”

 

Then my spirit rose at once; I was filled with joy and a spirit of victory.

 

It is the same in life. We forget the many victories that God gave us yesterday, and we regret the one thing that we did not succeed in today. But if we go back and turn the pages of our lives, we will find countless blessings, victories and mercies that God has given us.

 

So instead of counting what we did not succeed in today, let us remember the victories that were given to us yesterday. Because gratitude does not begin by counting what we have lost, but by remembering what we have been given.
