Mother Gives Her House and Ring to Macedonia

Ms. Asnakech Mekonnen, who retired after working for 30 years as an employee of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, donated her one-bedroom condominium and ring to the Macedonia Center for the Elderly and Mentally Ill during a fundraising event held at night to support the center. 

 

The mother said that the good work of Honorary Doctor Binyamin Beliko inspired her to give.

 

Ms. Asnakech, who says that Macedonia is a place of hope for those who have lost their homes and graves, said, “I don’t think that I have done anything in terms of the center’s extensive humanitarian work.” 

 

“I don’t know what will happen to me tomorrow, but I know that I will receive blessings from the Creator by giving what I have.” 

 

“It seems impossible for humans to care for and help more than 8,000 elderly and mentally ill people,” says Ms. Isnakech; she also points out that anyone who comes to the center and sees it cannot consider what it has given to Macedonia as a great thing beyond their good intentions. 

 

Ms. Isnakech also called on all citizens to participate in the fundraising campaign of the Macedonian Elderly and Mentally Ill Support Center to the best of their ability.
