This year's Ballon d'Or winner will be announced tonight in Paris

The Ballon d'Or award, which is given annually to football players, coaches and clubs who have achieved successful results and shown special talent in the 2024 season, will be announced tonight in the French capital, Paris.

This year, the 68th edition of the Ballon d'Or Awards ceremony will see awards given to both genders in 9 categories. 

Among the 30 players nominated in the best male player category are England's Jude Bellingham and Brazil's Vinicius Jr., who won the European Champions League with Real Madrid; Manchester City's Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Rodri and Barcelona's Lamain Yamal are strong contenders. 

26-year-old Barcelona's Aitina Bonmati is widely tipped to win the Women's Player of the Year for the second time in a row.

Borussia Dortmund, Girona, Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester City and Real Madrid will compete for the Men's Football Club of the Year honour.

The program will recognize the best male goalkeeper of the year, the best male coach of the year, the best female coach of the year, the best player under 21 years, the best women's football club of the year, and the top scorer of the year.

The Ballon d'Or is a prestigious football award organized by the European Football Association together with its partners.
