Ethiopia is implementing several mega projects. In this way, it is also repairing and rebuilding economic issues that have been broken for centuries.
With the completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, Ethiopia has turned its attention to other mega projects. It has also continued its efforts to regain ownership of ports that are crucial to its security.
In an interview with ETV, the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Democracy Affairs of the House of People's Representatives, Azmeraw Andemo, explained that the Renaissance Dam and the Red Sea are important issues for Ethiopia.
The Deputy Chairman, who mentioned that there are misconceptions about both the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and the port, said that Ethiopia was able to build the dam and use it for the common African benefit by clearing up misconceptions.
He said that the seaport is crucial for the development of the country, so Ethiopia has the right to have a port and that it can raise this issue and make it an agenda of the international community.
He also mentioned that the Ethiopian port issue and its benefits help ensure the common security of the region.
He pointed out that issues that have been broken for many years have been repaired for the past 7 years, and said that the time we are in is bringing the good news of victory to Ethiopians and repairing the historical fractures.
Ambassador Dina Mufti, a member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs of the House of People's Representatives, said that the silence that had existed for 3 decades on the ownership of the port has been broken.
"We are moving towards our goal with the works being done in the country," said Ambassador Dina, adding that both the seaport and mega projects are goals that hold the destiny of Ethiopia.
