__ “Everything you don’t use is not yours!” __

#Ethiopia | The old man was waiting for the bus to arrive, so he got on. As he lifted his feet and got inside, one of his shoes slipped off and was left outside.

The bus started moving without him being able to find his shoes. At this point, the old man, without uttering any angry words, took off the other shoe and threw it out the window.

A young passenger who was watching the old man’s actions asked the old man, “I was watching what you were doing.

Why did you throw the other shoe away?”

The old man immediately replied, “Look, my son, you can only use the other shoe if this one is with you.” And I added this one so that it would be useful or valuable to anyone who found it.”

With this act, the old man taught the young man a good philosophy of life.

We should not keep the things we consider our property only as long as they are useful to us, but only to say that they are important to us or to claim ownership.

Especially when that material object can be of great benefit to the other party, it is useless if it just sits there with us. Author Aletgeta Kebede appeared on the Bebrana Children’s Program and reminded me of the idea that “Everything you don’t use is not yours!” in this story.
