Cervical cancer vaccine will be given for 5 consecutive days from tomorrow in Addis Ababa

 

#Ethiopia The Addis Ababa City Administration Health Office announced that cervical cancer prevention vaccine will be given in a campaign for five consecutive days starting today, December 21. 

 

It has been stated that the vaccine will be given to more than 177 thousand 900 women aged 9 to 14 years. 

 

Vaccination is given in all public and private schools. 

 

Cervical cancer is mainly caused by a sexually transmitted virus called human papillomavirus. In Ethiopia, after breast cancer, it is the second most serious health threat to society and the second most deadly disease. 

 

One of the ways we can prevent cervical cancer is to get girls vaccinated, so all girls between the ages of 9 and 14 should be vaccinated. 

 

Parents or guardians are advised to protect their children's health by vaccinating them, the office said.
