Addis Ababa, January 9, 2025 (FMC) The government will monitor and take action against actions that put pressure on the society in an unreasonable way, urged the Minister of Government Communication Services (Dr.) Leges Tulu.

According to the international petrol price data, the average selling price of petrol in the first days of January is US$ 1.25 per litre. 

In Ethiopia, it is being sold at 0.805 USD per liter. This indicates that the oil price in Ethiopia is 35 percent lower than the international average selling price. 

The selling price of fuel in Ethiopia is much lower than what we have seen in East African countries. For example, in Kenya, 1.351; 1.136 in Rwanda; 1.299 in Uganda; In Tanzania, it is selling at US$1.127 per liter during the same period. 

In the poorest countries such as Malawi at 1.459, the Central African Republic is selling at 1.746 USD per liter. 

In most African countries, it is selling for more than 1.3 US dollars. Despite the fact that, following the recent increase in oil, some parties to whom the peace of Ethiopia is a foot fire are busy with their gang activities as usual. They never see the price of fuel in the countries they live in.
