The performance of six months is promising in moving Ethiopia to a better phase - Ministers

Addis Ababa, Ministers stated that the performance of the first six months of the fiscal year gave hope in moving Ethiopia to a better phase.

The evaluation of the performance of the first six months of the fiscal year was conducted at Halala Kela, which is part of the Chart for the Country project, in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

It has been pointed out that among the performance of sectors, agriculture has achieved better results especially in crop cultivation.

Dr. Girma Amente, the Minister of Agriculture, pointed out that in the past three or four years, new initiatives and experiences have been created and implemented in the agricultural sector.

Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel, said that especially Ethiopia's tourism activity has revitalized the manufacturing sector.

He pointed out that six new products were able to enter the world market in the first half of the year.

He pointed out that in the work done to replace imported products in the country, some products have also been exported.

The Minister of Education, Prof. Birhanu Nega, on his part, stated that the results of the half year indicate the level of the education system.

He also pointed out that he will start working soon to find a permanent solution to the problem.

Minister of Urban and Infrastructure Chaltu Sani said that he is working hard to make citizens home owners.

It is planned to build 100,000 houses in six months under the coordination of the private sector, and 80,000 houses have been built, ESA reported.
