Father's message to all the people of the world 

#Ethiopia | His Holiness Abune Mathias I, Patriarch, Archbishop of Ethiopia, Archbishop Zeaksum Wechige, Mahabere Tekleheman, has sent a paternal message to the entire people of the world, marking the new year of 2025 according to the Gregorian calendar.

The Amharic translation of His Holiness' message to the entire world community in English has been received from the Special Office of His Holiness the Patriarch and is presented here as follows:

In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, the One God, Amen!

"Waslam's roots on the earth for his longing for love:-

First of all, for those who are all over the world. To celebrate the birthday of our Lord, our God and our Savior Jesus Christ and the new year 2025. We would like to express our best wishes to our adopted children. 

Age is a gift of God with meaning beyond number. In time we find what we lost, we regain what we gained. As children grow stronger in age, elders grow weary. One age is the birth of one and the death of another. Although God our God is outside of time, He has placed us in a schedule. We are made to go through the changing identity of time without getting tired of it. The process from morning to night reveals the long journey from birth to death. Every day we live not only the day but our whole life. Man is a creature who lives outside of time in the world to come, which is measured by time in this world. In a mortal body he carries an immortal soul, and in the passing away time he looks forward to an eternal life that does not pass away. Although highs and lows alternate in history, civilizations come and go, one philosophy cancels another, but the alternation of ages remains a permanent law. Even though there are times when human beings hate to live because of the days of suffering, the fact that they long for the new year is a sign that they want to live. If there is a great topic of gratitude, it is to see a new era. We accept the new year as old, we call the past old and this new because we want to be in constant change. 

The birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ divided the history of the world into two. It is also called before the birth of Christ and after the birth of Christ. In our religion, it is divided into two, called the age of mercy and the age of mercy. Many have come into the world to change the world. But our Lord came to the world to change people's lives. We are now in the year of the Lord, the age of mercy. While full execution of judgment is essential for world peace, mercy brings true peace of heart. The journey we make to those less than us, the sacrifices we make to overcome selfishness and help others, is what changes the world. Our cities may not experience constant growth. There are times when growth stops. But the moral height of human beings has no limit, because the new age will eliminate evil deeds. It should be where good deeds are done. 

Dear people of the world! 

Last year was 2024. Although we have won many things as a world, it is also where we have failed. It appears that we have locked the world in a prison of man-made problems rather than natural disasters. The Russian-Ukrainian war, which seemed like it would end in days when it started, is taking years. It has also led to high cost of living and pressure all over the world. Above all, the two Orthodox peoples have become hungry for peace. The Middle East is engulfed in a war that is expanding every day. The world's center of gravity is thus exerting a lot of pressure. The solitary life that civilization has brought with it is causing many human beings to go through depression. Instead of finding a solution, instead of extinguishing the fire, things that aggravate the problems have become the manifestation of our world. The mock peace meetings are not determined, except to say we have spoken. 

Our land is very hungry for peace. Animals and beasts are going through suffering without their choice. Babies, rare guests of our world, are being disturbed. Our girls who could not defend themselves are still in fear. Although this world lives believing that a teacher will save it from punishment, it seems that it needs a teacher's mercy now. Therefore, in this commemoration of the birth of Christ and the year 2025. We should stand at reception and ask for forgiveness, work for our common home and do our part to make the world that has been disturbed by human disagreements calm down with people's determination.

Finally, those of you who are welcoming the new year; Those of us who celebrate the new year together with the birth of Christ, because the birth of Christ is where humility was revealed, so that you may stand up and put out the burning fire. We convey our paternal message of peace in the name of God so that you can play your part in changing war to peace.
